Requesting home visits
Posted or Updated on 17 Sep 2024
If you are too ill to attend the surgery and feel you need to be seen at home, we would like to advise patients that it would be helpful if you could contact the surgery before 10am to request a home visit, our phone lines are open from 8.30am. We appreciate the phone lines are likely to be busy but once in the queue, we will answer as soon as a member of the team becomes available. Calling as early as possible allows the GPs to assess the urgency of the request and plan their day/calls accordingly. If the call is not received until later in the day it is very difficult to allocate time for visits as it will have been used for other, possibly more routine appointments. We also have a team of visiting practitioners to help out with visits on occasions and their day is filled up very quickly. Urgent visits will be attended to as soon as possible, however some things cannot be dealt with by the surgery and you will be advised of the procedure accordingly if this is the case. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
