Chronic Disease Management
If you suffer from any of the following conditions - asthma, COPD, diabetes, chronic heart disease, chronic kidney disease, hypertension or thyroid problems you will be required to attend an annual review during your birthday month. We will not send any letters to invite you in for this, so it would be helpful if patients could keep this in mind and book an appointment as soon as possible for during their birthday month. On occasions you may be required to attend more frequently, if this is the case the practice nurse or GP will advise you.
Immunisations
The immunisation team carries out childhood immunisations. Other immunisations are carried by this team also. For foreign travel immunisations see our Travel Vaccinations page. Detailed requirements for travel immunisations can also be seen at www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk.
Child Health Surveillance
Child health surveillance checks are arranged for all children registered with this practice and are performed by Dr Harvey. These take place at the age of six weeks.
Family Planning
The practice is pleased to give advice on family planning including the insertion of the contraceptive implant.
We operate a computerised recall system for cervical smear tests.
Cervical smears should be carried out every three years for women aged 25 to 50 and every 5 years for women aged over 50 up to 64 and 364 days old. These are carried out by Marie Stephen, our lead practice nurse.
Maternity Care
We offer shared maternity medical care in conjunction with a consultant obstetrician at Perth Maternity Unit. In addition our local district midwives visit before and after the birth of the baby. All antenatal appointments are now organised centrally from Perth. The contact number is 01738 473493.
Minor Surgery
Minor surgical procedures may be carried out at the surgery. Please see your own doctor for details.
