Hospital Transport Arrangements
If patients require transport to hospital and may be eligible for the patient hospital transport service they should telephone 0300 123 1236 to organise this. Unfortunately we cannot do this on behalf of patients, the call handlers go through a series of questions to work out eligibility and organise accordingly.
Voluntary Hospital Transport
The voluntary hospital car service is run by local volunteers and they aim to provide transport to hospital appointments if patients do not have their own means of transport. They can be contacted on 07767 547892 or email pitlochryhospitalcars@gmail.com There is a charge for this service (mainly to cover fuel) and they will advise you of the charges once you provide the details of your hospital visit.
Update Feb 2026 - this service is not providing lifts to Pitlochry Medical Centre or Community Hospital but rather focusing their limited resources on hospital appointments in Dundee and Perth. They are not covering Ballinluig or Aberfeldy because they fall within the Tay Valley Community service. Again resources mean that they do not cover standard optician or hearing test appointments unless being held in a hospital. We are aware that this is disappointing for some patients.
